GIMP gets a New Release with Improvements

The free and open source image manipulation program for painting / drawing, editing photos etc GIMP which is a competent alternative to Photoshop has a new release with bug fixes and some new features with a version number 2.10.14.

This is still the old GIMP and not the forked version Glimpse.

The release has following highlights

Basic out-of-canvas pixels viewing and editing

Filters can now extend beyond layer boundary

Optional editing of layers with disabled visibility

Foreground Select tool: new Grayscale Preview Mode

Newly added Normal Map filter

27 old filters ported to use GEGL buffers

HEIF, TIFF, and PDF support improvements

Better loading of corrupted XCF files

Grayscale workflows order of magnitude faster

macOS Catalina compatibility

45 bugfixes, 22 translation updates
