Reference Image Display Program PureRef 1.10.x is Available for Artist

For the artist out there who use use reference images then the free program called PureRef has a new major release. The last major release was in 2017 and this version along with more point release have many features and bugfixes.

What is PureRef?

PureRef is a minimalistic image display program designed to streamline the display of an artist’s reference images. This program is intended to be non-obstructing and can organize multiple images for reference purpose which can also be altered (like cropping rotating etc.)

PureRef in Action

New Features:

  • Feature – Upon load of a .pur with missing linked images a new re-link dialog will be shown, providing easier mass re-linking for folders, it also has the option to remove any unresolved missing images from the scene. (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R)
  • Feature – Added support for EXR, SVG and improved support for TGA.
  • Feature – Added popup notifying window mode changes. It can be disabled in the settings “Show popup when window state changes”.
  • Feature – Added setting “Default window mode”.
  • Feature – Added option to completely disable the frame of the main window “Main window border”.
  • Feature – PureRef will now first try to load settings from within its own directory before looking in the user configuration directory. This can be used to use PureRef completely portable.
  • Feature – Added some basic command line arguments, for more information run PureRef with the command line flag -h.

PureRef is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux and can be downloaded for free. However, the said program also be downloaded by donating some amount which will help in further development.
