Run Free & Open Source Office Suite App on Android and iOS- Edit and View Documents on The Go
On the desktop, we have a good alternative to Microsoft Office called Libre Office which is not only free and open source, but is also compatible with Microfost’s Office Documents. But what about mobile? Sure we have tons of freemium office suits but nothing comes closer to completely free and open-source office suite which can also edit documents on the go, enter Colaborra Office.
This is essentially Libre Office running on mobile devices. What Colaborra has done is designed a UI suitable for mobile devices and the backend is taken from Libre Office. Thus ensurug support for Microsoft documents and mobile-oriented features like pinch to zoom, gestures, smooth scrolling, copy / past etc. all work.
Thus this suit has Word, PowerPoint and Excel support. Not to mention the support for other open documents format. However, it is to be noted that PDF format is not supported so that requires and extra app.
This is completely offline office suite and being open source means users can be fully secured about their privacy.
