Xiaomi Mi Watch is Official- MIUI coated Wear OS
The first smartwatch from Xiaomi has gone official after tons if teasing and it gives the adrenalin shot desperately required in Wear OS based smartphone market. It looks like Apple watch, but that might a good thing after all, as it cost a fraction at $185 but packs everything you expect.
Hardware– Design
The watch will have 1.78 inch AMOLED screen sporting a resolution of 410 x 410 and curved edges. This will enable always on display and still save battery. There is a single button and crown on the right side, just like Apple’s Watch. On the left side there a speaker and a microphone. The watch will have Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and eSIM support.
Hardware– Under the hood
The SOC used is the tried and tested the Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G paired with 1 GB RAM and 8GB storage. The battery inside is rated at 570 mAh which is the biggest battery inside a smartwatch.
Software
The Watch runs on Google’s Wear OS coated with its special skin called MIUI. Xiaomi’s Mi Watch can detect up to ten different forms of physical activities like walking, running, swimming, up-hill running, treadmill, general workout with wights, etc. Besides continuous heart rate measuring MIUI for watch has 40+ built-in apps and a separate app store that is now open for third-party developers.
Price
The Mi watch is china exclusive is priced at $185 for the regular edition and $285 for the premium edition.
