Android 10 arrives for Android TV
The Android TV has in recent times gained market share thanks to the launching of a slew of more smart TVs and entry of more manufacturers in this segment. While the new year is right around the corner, Google has announced Android 10 for Android TV.
Google hopes that update to Android 10 will be faster from Android 9 due to Treble support. Android 10 for TV also brings support for encrypted user data for more secure storage, several security improvements, and better performance.
Android 10 also brings TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.3 support which brings new encryption protocol update that is both faster (reducing HTTPS overhead) and more secure than TLS 1.2. It removes many of these problematic options and only includes support for algorithms with no known vulnerabilities.
Launch of ADT-3 – A streaming Media device for developers
To make sure developers have the ability to build and test Android TV app implementations on Android 10 prior to rollout, Google is introducing a new, developer-focused streaming media device called ADT-3 with a quad-core A53, 2GB of DDR3 memory and 4Kp60 HDR HDMI 2.1 output.
