Crossfire’s Future seems bleak
Fans of combining two weak gpu to save on upgrade expenses or people who experiment with two powerful GPUs to get even better performance, there is a sad news if you are an AMD fan.
At recently held Hotchips 2019, Dr. Lisa Su, CEO of AMD has confirmed that crossfire is not there focus as of now.
what this means is that RDNA based gpus might not have crossfire capability. The focus being “might”.
As of now, ray tracing is just starting to take steps and since its more resource intensive, combining more then GPU should have been a more logical answer until next generations gets the performance and since Next “BIG” navi is rumored to have ray tracing capability, this seems a tad odd.
