AMD announces New GPUs, RX5500 Series
AMD has finally announced RDNA based GPUs which will refresh their Polaris based aging GPUs RX 5XX and RX 4XX series by announcing 7nm fabricated Navi GPUs for mid segment, the RX5500 & RX 5500 XT for Desktop and RX5500M for Laptops. The cards will be using 128-bit memory bus which will offer 224GB/sec of memory bandwidth
The RX 5500XT
This is the strongest GPU of the lineup and will be featuring 1408 stream processors with 22 compute units featured on the card. The card features a boost clock of 1845 MHz whereas the Game clock is set at 1717 MHz. The card would feature up to 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM.
The RX 5500 & 5500M
The GPU is similar in configuration to RX 5500 XT and thus both should perform the same. The only major difference being memory size would be 4GB GDDR6. The 5500M will feature lower clock speed and thus will be battery friendly on mobility devices.
