Another Vulnerability found in Intel CPUs
Researchers at Amsterdam have reveled that Intel CPUs specially server side Xeon CPUs are vulnerable which rely on Direct Data I/O Technology and Remote Direct Memory Access.
The vulnerability is dubbed as NetCAT and seems to Affect Xeon E5, E7 and SP processors. AMD chips are not impacted by this threat.
As researchers , the vulnerability means that untrusted devices on a network “can now leak sensitive data such as keystrokes in a SSH session from remote servers with no local access.”
The best way to be safe is to disable the said functionality alltogether.
