Samsung beats Qualcomm in mid range 5G integration
Samsung has taken it wraps off from new mid range SOC called Exynos 980 which Samsung hopes to launch in multiple Mid Segment mobiles. Samsung has stated that their aim is to make 5G more accessible to a wider range of users.
Samsung-made Exynos 980 includes the 5G modem in single integrated package saving space and power and also has Cortex A77 for high performance and Cortex A55 as energy efficient core in big-little configuration. AN enhanced NPU is also integrated for better AI experience. Plus Samsung has support for 108MP camera support baked in.
