Adobe Explains New Features Coming to Photoshop on iPad

Adobe launched photoshop in a much fanfare on iPad but the crowd was first to diss it as the software although promised desktop experience on a mobile device, but had limited feature set. The company has now detailed what new features will be added to the mobile version and how it will get closer to its desktop brethren.

  • Introduction of Select Subject– This tool helps in automatically select the most prominent subjects in a photograph using AI
  • better cloud document with delta change support
  • Refine Edge brush– This help in a selection where it is difficult to identify subject from background like fur, hair etc.,
  • Curves and Adjustment Layer options– Curves for tonal adjustments and continue to build out adjustment layers to enhance non-destructive workflows.
  • Brush sensitivity– This brings the brush sensitivity level similar to what Adobe is doing in its fresco app.
  • Rotate Canvas- Canvas can be rotated to any angle
  • Lightroom Integration– you will be able to process raw images in Lightroom premium on your iPad and take them further in Photoshop using workflows designed specifically for this device
  • access all Adobe fonts on iOS including 1,300 fonts in the free Creative Cloud app, and all 17,000 fonts included with the Creative Cloud plan.
