Huawei may debut Next Gen SOC Kirin with 50% Performance Upliftment
Twitter user @RODENT950 has a new rumor regarding next gen flagship SOC by Huawei. The performance picture painted by the leakster is that the flagship SOC will be called Kirin 1020 and will perform 50% better than present flagship SOC i.e. Kirin 990.
So the juicer part is that the next SOC will be manufactured at TSMC’s latest 5nm manufacturing node. along with this, ARM cortex A77 will replace A76 to garner more performance. Although current Kirin 990 has 5G modem, but that is optional. Kirin 1020 / 1000 will have 5G modem baked in.
ANother infor leaked is that the mid range SOC 810 will be replaced by Kirin 820 and will also include 5G modem.
Obviously everything has to be taken with a grain of salt as Huawei has not confirmed any of the rumor. As of now, we have Kirin 990 which is going to compete with Snapdragon 865 which will make a debut in 2020.
