Poco X2 is here following the success of Poco F1 which debuted and rumbled the smartphone market with top of the line SOC in a price bracket no one could compete and became the new flagship killer. However, even after tons of public demand, its successor was out of sight. Now after leaks, tease and spinning off of Poco as a separate Brand from Xiaomi, Poco X2 is finally here in India. But it is not what everyone expected.
We have already speculated that K30 will be rebranded as Poco X2 with Spigen cover confirming the same, the specs are as below:
The screen has a size of 6.67″ with a resolution of FHD+ (2400 x 1080). This, however, has LCD instead of AMOLED. This does keep up with the latest fad of 120Hz high refresh rate. The screen also has Punch-hole display with dual front cameras and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. HDR10 is supported.
Not the top of the line SD 865 or the yesteryear’s flagship SD855 is here. This uses the SOC in K30 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, manufactured at 8nm process. The dual cluster SOC has 2 x Kryo 460 Gold cores based on Arm Cortex-A76 @ 2.2 GHz and 6 x Kryo 460 Silver cores based on Arm Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz. GPU is handled by Adreno 618 @ 575MHz.
The Quad camera package is here with the main cam of 64MP having Sony IMX686, f/1.9, 1/1.7 sensor. There is wide angle camera of 8MP 120° Wide-Angle with f/2.2. A 2MP, f/2.4 Depth Sensor is also there. Lastly, a 2MP Macro camera with autofocus, f/2.4 completes the package.
Video wise, it can record 4K @ 30fps, 1080p @ 60fps, Ultra-wide: 1080p @ 30fps and Slow-motion 1080p @ 120fps, 720p @ 960fps. No 4K 60 fps is here as the SOC cannot handle it.
Front side has two cameras with main cam of 20MP and a depth sensor of 2MP.
RAM & Storage
This supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. The mobile comes with combination of 6GB+ 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB.
This houses a decent battery of 4,500 mAh which can be fast charged using 27W brick using Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+.
This is still using its parent company skin called MIUI 11 which is further based on Android 10.
This comes at below-mentioned prices
6GB/64GB- ₹15,999 ($225)
6GB/64GB- ₹16,999 ($243)
Poco X2 will compete with Realme X2 which has a similar spec and similar price. However, Xiaomi (Oops.. its Poco) has undercut the price to mark its entrance.
