Realme 5i will come to India on 9th January

Realme’s onslaught on price conscious segment continues as Realme India has tied up with Flipkart to launch its Realme 5i mobile on 9th Jan 2020. Realme 5i is already available in the Vietnamese market and is part of Realme 5 Series.

The Specification of the device is below:

Screen

The screen size stands at 6.52 inches but on the reduced resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels in 20:9 ratio format. Corning Gorilla Glass provides screen protection, however, we don’t know what is the version. The screen uses water drop notch to house font camera.

Camera

The usual Quad camera module makes an appearance here with the main cam being 12 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.9″, 1.25µm, PDAF. The wide camera is of 8 MP, f/2.3, 13mm, This also comes with a macro camera with 2MP 1/4.0″, 1.12µm, f/2.4, 1/5″, 1.75µm. There a depth sensor which has 2 MP, f/2.4, 1/5″, 1.75µm. Video format support is limited to 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps. There is EIS for stabilization.

The from Selfie camera has 8 MP, f/2.0 sensor and video support is limited at 1080p@30fps. This is where Realme has saved some money.

Chip

This uses the mid range champion from Qualcomm called SDM665 Snapdragon 665 manufactured at 11 nm. This CPU has an Octa-core setup with two clusters. The powerful cluster is at 4x 2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold cores & the Power saving cluster is at 4x 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver cores.

The GPU unit is Adreno 610. There will be two RAM / Storage option with 32GB / 3GB RAM & 64GB / 4GB RAM.

Other

Realme has not moved with time and is still using microUSB 2.0 port. FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac in dual-band completes the package.

Battery

This houses a large Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. However, the charging speed is limited to 10W.

Software

This still comes with Android 9 under Realme’s Color OS skin. Realme has promised Android 10 update.
