Its On!! Intel gets First dGPU Running
The GPU market is poised to become three way competitive with Red (AMD), Blue (Intel) and Green (Nvidia) team. Intel having huge budget at their disposal and delivering open drivers on Linux, open noise reduction library etc. shows their commitment. Intel has now officially proclaimed that their first dGPU is “Alive” by Intel Sr. Director, Discrete Graphics and Visual Technologies Marketing Chief, Chris Hook.
The first GPU prototype is known as DG1 which could mean discrete GPU No. 1.
Intel is on track to launch its first GPU dubbed as Xe by Raja Koduri where he has posted backside of a tesla where the number plate clearly showcases June 2020 as the date and ThinkXE as the number. XE being the name of their discrete GPU effort.
