Librem 5 begins shipping

Librem 5 developed by purism people shot to fame when they successfully completed their crowdfunded the campaign of Linux bases privacy-focused mobile phone in 2017.

After couple of delays, Purism has announced that the first batch of handsets are ready and will be dispatched soon.

As reported earlier, the phone will be shipped in batches with each batch improving on the previous batch. This is the first batch and will have not so perfect hardware and software.

Although software can be fixed with the latest updates, hardware will still have a lot to be desired. Thus people should ignore this batch and get the 6th batch if they care about $699. However, the enthusiast will likely want to get the device early on.
