Sketchup 2020 Released- Game Changer Enhancements in Tow

Trimble Inc. has announced a new version of 3D modeling software specifically for architectural and mechanical design dubbed Sketchup 2020.

Trimble has expressed that they have considered user feedback from forums, comments, training events, etc and have incorporated improvement in the workflow which they believe is a game changer.

The New Enhancement are listed below:

New Scale Figure

New Scale Figure: A female scale figure called Laura has been introduced in SketchUp 2020

Outliner to Replace Layers: In an effort to increase model performance, you no longer have to create Layers upon Layers. You can do your main model organization straight within Outline

New Bounding Box

Bounding Box to Grab Models: Clicking on a model will generate a transparent bounding box which can be grabbed and then move, rotate the object and place it easily.

New Hidden Object

Hidden Object: the ability to better manage hidden geometry and hidden objects for an even easier modeling experience. For example, let’s say you want to edit hidden edges in a landscape or smoothed surface, but you still want to be able to hide objects that are nearby (like trees, bushes, or a building)

LayOut Support: More focus on improving the interaction between SketchUp and LayOut to save time.

Model View: you can safely change a style or camera angle directly in LayOut without accidentally losing your changes. Just because you made some changes in LayOut, doesn’t mean you’re stuck with those. You can always resync your viewports back to your SketchUp model if you need to

Customization: If you have one SketchUp model that exists across several viewports, you can now relink just one of those viewports to another SketchUp model
