Epic Games Announces Twinmotion 2020

The first release of Twinmotion after being acquired by Epic Games is here and has tons of enhancement that help turn your CAD and BIM models into even more convincing visualizations and immersive experiences.

What is Twinmotion?

Twinmotion is a program that help turn your CAD and BIM models into even more convincing visualizations and help in creating immersive experiences by quickly generating renderings of project: images, videos, 360 panoramas and a Stand Alone version.

Here are the new features in Twinmotion 2020

Twinmotion 2020 lighting

Enhanced lighting and rendering: Twinmotion 2020 has a reworked lighting and shadowing system that features a new screen-space global illumination (SSGI) method for indirect lighting and better baseline settings to more closely match physical lights. There’s a new physically based atmospheric sun and sky, offering more realistic skies that accurately reflect different locations, seasons, and times of day. New area and volumetric lighting system for fog effects. The depth of field (DoF) feature is also enhanced.

Twinmotion 2020- Vegetation Shader

Enhanced vegetation system: The in built assets now has high-resolution tree assets. These contains more polygons and comes in three different ages and four seasons. The shaders for foliage is also enhanced which now has sub-surface scattering.

Twinmotion 2020- Human Assets

Higher-fidelity humans: Twinmotion’s built-in library of 3D human characters has been replaced with new high-quality photo-scanned assets, enhancing the credibility and ambience of your scene. There are 62 mocap-animated characters, each with five changes of clothing, and a further 82 ready-posed characters

One-click synchronization with Rhino: Twinmotion 2020 sees Rhino added to its list of packages supported by Direct Link

Project presentation and review: the new Twinmotion Presenter enables you to share an individual project in a standalone viewer as a lightweight packaged executable, so clients and stakeholders can review a project without needing to have Twinmotion installed
